Our holiday house is set at trevone bay, near padstow in cornwall. An idyllic village location where time really does seem to stand still. The beach house as our boys have nick named it, is a single storey house that was built in the 1930’s, with later additions and is typical of many properties in the village. It is situated on a private, quiet, no thru road, popular with generations of visiting families.
With four good size bedrooms, the house can sleep up to eight. It is a great space for one family to spread out, or for two families to share - there are two en-suite bedrooms for the mums and dads and two other bedrooms for the children, with a family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have room for a cot.
Beds are made up with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets and feather down duvets and each room has a hairdryer. Each bathroom has a stock of towels and welcome toiletries.
Choose from:
The Attic (with en-suite bathroom) The Attic bedroom is a hideway bedroom for mum and dad. On the first floor, it has cosy sloping ceilings and an en suite bathroom. The dormer window gives glimpses of the beach so you can check out the morning surf. This is a calm and soothing space. (Room for a travel cot.) There is also a small flat screen tv.
The Garden Room (with en-suite wetroom) The garden room is the ground floor en-suite bedroom. It has a French feel with an iron bed, soft lighting and double doors leading to the wet room. There is also a small flat screen tv.
Beach Room With a zip and link bed this room can be converted to either a twin or a double. It has an ornamental cast iron fireplace. With two large windows overlooking the front garden it is airy and light, and there is space in this bedroom also for a travel cot.
The Middle Room As is sounds this bedroom is tucked between the Garden Room and Beach Room. It has twin beds and is perfect for two children to share. Like the rest of the house it has bright white walls and cosy blankets to snuggle under. Just off the hallway it has easy access to the play corner so early risers can play without waking mum and dad.
Bathroom There is an additional bathroom on the ground floor which serves the Middle Room and Beach Room. With easy access for the children, it has a bath with shower over and a handy wooden step for little ones.
Kitchen/Dining The kitchen area leading off to the dining room has French doors to the garden and a useful low table and seating, great for kids tea. The kitchen has a contemporary feel, bright and white and warmed with solid oak worktops and a solid oak floor. All the appliances are integrated, including fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen has been equipped with just about everything a family could need for rustling up a light meal to a dinner party for friends.
Dining Room Essentially this is a separate room, perfect for intimate grown up dinners once the little ones are in bed. It has French doors on to the garden deck for drinks and bbq’s on the terrace and a gas burning stove for cosy autumn and winter suppers.
The Sitting Room The sitting room has plenty of squashy sofas and big floor cushions on which to curl up with a good book or read the papers. There is a flat screen tv with Sky, and dvd player, X Box and a library of films and programmes for the whole family.
Play Corner We have turned a small corner of the hallway into an area where the children will find plenty of really good quality toys, games and books for boys and girls from babies upwards.
Utility/Boot Room A really practical addition to the house is the utility/boot room where you can store walking boots/wellingtons/coats etc and there is a washer/dryer and extra sink. There is a utility box stocked with cleaning aids, laundry tablets, and a shoe cleaning kit.. We have provided a golf sized golf umbrella, a handy shopping basket, picnic blanket and picnic cooler box. There is even a beach towel for every guest.
Parking There is space for two cars on the driveway and another space immediately outside the house. Park the car on your arrival and you needn’t pick up the keys until you depart!
Practicalities For stays of 8 nights or more all linen and towels will be changed ½ way through your stay.
